The third series of 90 Plein Street starts on SABC2 on 1 November 2011 at 21h34. The 26 episodes continue to focus on Dineo’s (Warona Seane) struggles in the corridors of parliament. Dineo is chair of the mining committee and later appointed to minister of housing.

“In this series we intentionally focus on topical issues and current debates that most South Africans are familiar with and have an emotional or intellectually interest in. These issues include serious conflicts and define the South African political landscape. We want audiences to engage and participate in these issues that impact on their everyday lives” says Jo Neethling commissioning editor at SABC Education’s public information and social development unit.

90 Plein Street III will raise questions in an objective manner and be relevant to all South Africans. The topics are approached naturally through the characters and are not didactic so the series remains a drama with emotional characters and story lines. Favourite leads returning to series III include Connie Mfuku, Florence Mokgatsi, Neo Ntlatleng, Nadine Naidoo and Lindani Nkosi. New leads, among others include Vatiswa Ndara, Mothusi Magano, Sello Sebotsane and Atandwa Kani.

90 Plein Street is produced for SABC Education by Born Free Media for broadcast on SABC2 Tuesdays at 21h34 from 1 November.
